Where is Hai//Om Safaris located?
Hai//Om Safaris is a hunting lodge in Namibia situated on 7,000 hectares of Savannah Bushlands near the small town of Otavi, south of the Etosha National Park.
Can I bring my own weapon to Namibia?
Hunters can bring their own rifles, although handguns and automatic weapons are prohibited. You’ll need to declare your firearms and ammunition upon arrival at the airport in Windhoek and complete a Rifle Import/Export Application. There’s no fee for the temporary import of hunting rifles. You can bring a maximum of 100 rounds of ammunition per firearm, and it must be for the specific caliber of your rifle.
It’s advisable to carry a copy of your gun license or proof of ownership, along with a hunting permit and a Letter of Invitation from the hunting farm to ensure that you have a smooth entry with your firearm.
Do I need a license to hunt in Namibia?
No hunting license from the hunter’s country of origin is required. You will only need a hunting permit issued to the hunting farm in your name for your hunting trip to Namibia
What are the requirements to apply for a hunting permit?
To apply for your hunting permit,we require the following information from you:
-A clear copy of your passport (photo page)
-Your telephone number (including country code)
-Your email address
-Your full residential address (house number, street, city, and country)
Is hunting in Namibia regulated?
Hunting in Namibia is regulated by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. Each outfitter needs to have a registered hunting farm and an accredited hunting guide in order to apply for a trophy permit.

What should I bring along for the hunting safari?
Prospective hunters should consider to bring along the following:
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat
- Binoculars
- Safari-type clothing in camouflage or khaki colours
- Warm clothing for the winter months between May and August
- Hiking shoes or shoes with durability which are suitable for walking
How long does it take to issue trophy hunting permits in Namibia?
The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has a standard turnaround time of 5-7 working days to issue trophy hunting permits in Namibia. However, since the office is located in Windhoek we require approximately 2-3 weeks to get the documents in order.
